Mr. Ashe is a 1979 honors graduate of Chicago-Kent College of Law and winner of the Murkovian Academic Scholarship. He graduated Cum Laude from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana In 1976 earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.

From 1980-1982 Mr. Ashe served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Francis S. Lorenz of the Illinois Appellate Court, First District.

Following his clerkship on the Illinois Appellate Court, Mr. Ashe was a partner at Cassiday, Schade & Gloor (now known as Casslday Schade, LLP). Mr. Ashe brings more than 25 years of experience as a trial and appellate attorney to the firm. He formerly represented and defended physicians and hospitals in complex medical malpractice cases at trial and appellate levels. Mr. Ashe served on the firm's executive committee and was also the chairman of the firm's appellate department. He resigned from the firm as a capital partner in October of 2001 in order to represent individuals and families who have suffered losses due to medical malpractice, vehicular collisions, premises liability, products liability, construction and work related injuries.

Mr. Ashe's first jury trial on behalf of a plaintiff resulted in a $2.5 million dollar award to a family in a wrongful death and survival action filed on behalf of a 68 year old man whose condition was misdiagnosed by a Chicagoland area home healthcare provider. Subsequent to that time, Mr. Ashe has obtained numerous seven figure monetary recoveries for the victims of medical malpractice and other negligent conduct.

Mr. Ashe has lectured extensively on a wide range of medical-legal topics before hospitals, physicians, insurance companies and bar associations. Mr. Ashe recently gave a presentation on the topic of closing arguments in a seminar sponsored by the Illinois State Bar Association.

In addition, from 1998 to 2000, Mr. Ashe authored and co-authored the "Jurisdiction of the Subject Matter" Chapter of the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education's journal.

Mr. Ashe has also served as a judge for local law school trial advocacy competitions and has participated as both an evaluator and a judge in regional moot court competitions.

He has been a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys, the American Trial Lawyers Association, and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.
